Let's be honest. I haven't posted in a while because I don't have anything THAT good to post about. College ultimate season is over. I'm on my break from ultimate (although I am playing on a summer league team in Atlanta). I want to write something about my experience with turf shoes.
If you are not from Atlanta, you first need to know that there is a drought problem. We have been going through a drought for years. Each summer, it seems to get worse, says the newspapers. We cannot wear cleats anymore because the fields would suffer too much wear and tear. So, on top of the $65 I am paying for registration, I have to spend more money to buy Turf Shoes.
So, I asked people where to buy turf cleats. Some people ordered them online, and some people got them from Dick's Sporting Goods. Apparently, Dick's doesn't have that great of a selection, but at least you could try them on and know what they feel like. I wanted a variety to pick from and a good deal, so I chose the Internet.
I am going to warn you about how lame the next couple of things sound, but it's okay. I don't mind looking stupid in order to help some people out choosing where to buy their cleats.
1. Eastbay - Use Eastbay only to search. I ordered my cleats from Eastbay and wish I hadn't. After paying nearly $20 for 2-3 days shipping on SATURDAY, I got them on THURSDAY. Apparently, Eastbay doesn't ship until MONDAY. Anyway, I found the same cleats for cheaper on another website, so the moral of the Eastbay calamity is to not order from them.
2. Zappos - Zappos has free shipping and free returns 365 days. This site has a lot of different shoes, but I found Eastbay to be more user friendly in their search for turf shoes. Check out the price differentials between Eastbay and Zappos.
3. Endless - Endless is where I would definitely buy shoes because the shipping is FREE and OVERNIGHT. Once again, use Eastbay to look up the shoes you want, and then search for them on this website. They have cheap Diadora Turf Shoes for $34. Also, there isn't Sales Tax (at least there isn't in Georgia).
4. Use Google Shopping whenever you find the turf shoe/cleat you want. Google shopping is how I found endless.com.

I'm in NC, where we had a bad drought too. I recently bought the New Balance 995. They're great for the turf, BUT...they seem to be narrow (I have a wide foot so I bought 4E's but these are still a little narrow near the toes), and they are low cut which I'm not a fan of (but I also wear "active ankles" alot, which solves that particular problem).
Have you checked out Dita? Not cheap, but by far the best shoe out there. see DitaTurfShoes.com for their full line.
Where i can buy childrens turf shoes i have no idea
